Free and Clear, or so we thought

Madison's eyes are looking great. No redness or goopyness at all, so she went to school today. As I was helping her hang her coat and backpack up her friend Mela came up to her with her hand over her eye. Mela then proceeded to hold her eye open with her hands and show Madison her eye. She then said, "I've got an eye infection, look!" Madison backed up away from her, looked at me and said, "Oh no, she's got a pink eye too!" Maddie looked scared to death. She hated getting those drops in her eyes so that is probably why. Needless to say, when I told Mela's mom Maddie had pink eye last week she took Mela home and hopefully to the doctors. I hope no one else gets it.

Pink Eye Update

The pink eye has now spread to her other eye. Putting the drops in is a pain. We pretty much have to hold her down and force open her eyes. Gabe doesn't have any signs of infection yet. I'm just praying he doesn't get it.

Pink Eye: Confirmed

Well, we've been to the doctor and she definitely has pink eye. I hope none of our friends get it. She's been at school both days this week, she went to dance class, to the McDonald's play area, and saw baby James yesterday. The doctor said it was only contagious when it was red and goopy, and she wasn't either when she say all these people so I don't think anyone should get it. We have to put eye drops in her eye three times a day and she has a patch over it so she doesn't rub it and then spread it to her other eye or to Gabie. She looks kind of pitiful with her little eye patch on, but she's being a good sport about it.

Pink Eye

Too bad Maddie's favorite color is no longer pink. She would have been thrilled to have pink eye, that is, until it started getting all crusty like. I called the nurse and she said to see how it looked in the morning, but I'm pretty sure it is pink eye. It is really goopy and has a lot of yellow puss coming out of it. Yuck!

Row, row, row your boat, E-I-E-I-O

I'm happy to report that Gabe now stays in his bed. I put him down for a nap yesterday and he stayed in bed and he doesn't wake me up by banging on the door anymore. This morning I was awakened by a tiny voice singing first The ABC Song and then Row, Row, Row Your Boat - EIEIO.

When I first heard The ABC Song I thought it was Maddie singing, so I stayed in bed for a little while longer. After I heard the voice say, "Row, row, row your boat, E-I-E-I-O." I had a feeling it wasn't her. I got up out of bed and went in her room and she was still sleeping sound. I opened Gabe's door and there he was sitting in his bed singing away. It was so cute. When he saw me come in he said, "Hi Mama!"

I love hearing him talk.
