Our New Town and House
This is a building in the very small downtown area.
This is the pavilion downtown
The playground downtown
Our New House
This is the back of our house.
This is looking down one of the streets in our neighborhood.
If you look very closely you can see a bunch of teeny houses and pine trees. This is our neighborhood from one of the back roads. There are fields and a golf course surrounding it.
This is the Shellsburg Elevator.
This is what our area outside of downtown mostly looks like.

More House Stuff
So, a lot has happened in the past week. We accepted the offer we received and are closing on May 1st. I flew out to Waterloo on Tuesday night and Dave and I have been looking at houses for the bast 3 days. We put an offer on a house yesterday afternoon and it was accepted this morning. We are closing on the new house on May 4th. It's a little surreal how well things are working out. I totally believe things happen for a reason, so maybe this move was meant to be. I'm trying really hard not to resist, but it's not easy.
The new house is fantastic and we are really excited. It's a little bit further away from Dave's work than what we had planned and it is definitely country living, but we will be about 20 minutes away from a larger city (even larger than Waterloo and Cedar Falls put together) where we can do our shopping and eat at chain restaurants. The kids will go to a Lutheran school that has excellent test scores. The house is on a little over 1/2 an acre and on a cul-de-sac and backs up to a golf course, so there will be plenty of room to play. We are heading over there in a little while and then Dave is taking me to the airport, so I will post some pictures tomorrow.

House Update
Since we put the house on the market a week ago we have had 4 showings. Our realtor has said she things one of the couples is interested and wants to come back again this weekend. We haven't heard any feedback from the showing yesterday though. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Yeah!!! I'm done!!! For now...
I'm just going to show a few pictures. It feels SO good to be all done. The realtor is coming tomorrow (I guess it's really today) at 1 pm and Dave gets home at 4:30 pm. Dave and I still have a few things we have to do to the house this weekend, but they shouldn't take too long.

The Office/Front Room/Multi-Purpose Room - Whatever you want to call it, it's done...and clean.
I, along with many others, have been working on getting the office done for a little over a week. My goal is to have the entire house done and clean by Monday, so I will be updating the blog with pictures of each room as I go. This should motivate me, right? We'll see.
Please keep in mind that the rooms surrounding this room are still considered disaster areas.
