A Little Annoyed

I am a little annoyed right now. Dave just called and told me he talked to the Executive VP at his company earlier today. He basically told Dave that he would have a job, but he wasn't sure where at yet and it could be 30 days before we know anything. HellOOOOOOOO............ 30 days is a long time. We're already feeling pretty anxious and now we have to go through this for 30 more days!?! We are definitely thankful that at least he has a job, but I hate this feeling of being in limbo and not sure what is going to happen next.

For everyone I haven't talked to in the past 24 hours...
Dave's boss called him last night and told him that his company has decided to close down the Michigan plant that Dave was working at before he went to Iowa. They will be liquidating everything beginning March 1st. They announced the closing to the employees and customers today. Dave says he has been getting a ton of calls since this morning. Dave has been working in Iowa for 16 days so far. The whole stint is/was supposed to be 60 days.

We're not really sure what is going to happen next. We think they are waiting to hear from John Deere to see if they are happy with the job Dave is doing. I really have no doubt in my mind that John Deere will be happy and even demanding that Dave take over the plant. He has already heard from some of the John Deere guys that they were impressed with the way he has handled himself so far.

I saw these John Deere fruit snacks at the grocery store this morning and decided to buy some. The kids had some with their lunch today and we talked about how Daddy's company in Iowa paints all the green parts on the tractors.

I guess now I will sit here and eat John Deere fruit snacks while playing the waiting game. Lucky me...

Yikes. I heard about this from my mom, and I'm sorry you're stuck in limbo. That is exceedingly stressful, particularly when it involves little details like where you'll be living.

I'm glad they've envisioned a place for Dave still in the company, though. That's reassuring.

But, gah! 30 days is a long time.
